WUHAN NOVEL CORONAVIRUS
PLEASE NOTE: Patients with respiratory symptoms AND either a travel history to a risk area (Wuhan City, China) OR contact with a known Wuhan novel coronavirus case should inform staff when contacting surgery. Triage will be completed by telephone wherever possible and the patient will be requested to remain at home. For information, further specialist advice will be sought from local secondary care infection specialists. Thank you.
A coronavirus is a type of virus. As a group, coronaviruses are common across the world. typical symptoms of coronovirus include fever and a cough that may progress to a severe pneumonia causing shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. Generally, coronvirus can cause more severe symptoms in people with a weakened immune symstems, older people , and those with the long-term conditions like diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.
Wuhan novel coronovirus is a new strain of coronovirus first identified in Wuhan City China.
